Dean Glace – Trumpet
My father bought a used trumpet when I was 7 years old and he and I started learning the trumpet together. I played through middle and high school and college. I was a member of the orchestra, symphonic band, brass choir, brass band, 26-piece big band, and 250-piece marching band at NC State University. When the Summerville Community Orchestra came together in 2003, I was part of the original group of musicians. I enjoy playing all kinds of music and the orchestra is part of that outlet for me. I have enjoyed my 19 years so far and I am looking forward to my 20th season. I have played at different events around the Charleston area since I moved here 27 years ago and look forward to keeping up my playing. One of my hobbies is astrophotography. I have a remote telescope in Animas, New Mexico, and use it to image deep space galaxies, nebulas, and star clusters. I have been doing this for about 15 years. Recently, I traveled to New Mexico to explore the galaxy through the lens!

Mi padre compró una trompeta usada cuando tenía 7 años y él y yo comenzamos a aprender a tocar la trompeta juntos. Toqué durante la escuela secundaria, preparatoria y la universidad. Fui miembro de la orquesta, banda sinfónica, coro de metales, banda de metales, big band de 26 piezas y banda de marcha de 250 piezas en la Universidad Estatal de Carolina del Norte. Cuando la Orquesta Comunitaria de Summerville se formó en 2003, fui parte del grupo original de músicos. Disfruto tocar todo tipo de música y la orquesta es parte de esa vía para mí. He disfrutado mis 19 años hasta ahora y espero con ansias mi temporada número 20. He tocado en diferentes eventos alrededor del área de Charleston desde que me mudé aquí hace 27 años y espero seguir tocando. Uno de mis pasatiempos es la astrofotografía. Tengo un telescopio remoto en Animas, Nuevo México, y lo uso para capturar imágenes de galaxias, nebulosas y cúmulos estelares del espacio profundo. He estado haciendo esto por unos 15 años. Recientemente, viajé a Nuevo México para explorar la galaxia a través del lente.
