Indigo Gift Towels Workshop

Create a unique gift using indigo to dye your own tea towel. During this workshop, guests will learn about the history, science, and artistry of indigo as a natural dye. Participants will have the opportunity to personalize a tea towel, creating a one-of-a-kind gift for the holidays. Join Dr. Nancy Simpson, Middleton Place textile craft interpreter and experienced indigo educator, in this four-part indigo workshop series. From September to December, Nancy will teach guests about the varied aspects of indigo, including indigo as a plant, processing in the colonial way to obtain dye “cake” and its history in the Lowcountry. Each workshop includes a one-of-a-kind hands-on experience, and guests will have the opportunity to take home their creation.
