Artist Statement:

I have been drawing most of my life and I have been making comics since 2005. Since 2008 I have been developing a comics style I call a side-scrolling-comic. It is a synthesis of the things that I love; newspaper comics, movies, and side scroller games like Super Mario Brothers. In part Milk Run: A Comic Experience is a proof of concept for this style of idea on a large scale. In all other forms the stories that I have told have been confined within a book format which has breaks built in as the reader turns the page. In this exhibit, the reader will be able to carry on in an unbroken form. The other goal of this exhibit is to share my love of comics. I believe that comics are an extremely malleable art form that allows people to tell stories, to express feelings, to explore emotions with no more than pencil and paper. My hope is that once folks leave they have a different perspective of what comics can be; that they are for anyone with a pencil, some paper and an idea.
