This month we’re chatting about The Magic Library of Waterfall Way by Julie Abe. This is a warm, adventurous fantasy all about finding courage, friendship, and a place to belong.
Lyra Hunt has terrible luck. In fact, she’s the first Unremarkable the Alterran Empire has seen in centuries, and every guild she’s approached has rejected her. More than anything, Lyra wants a home of her own—preferably one filled with books! Then she discovers Waterfall Way and the secretive Guild of Scholars. Their welcoming community and incredible magical Library seem almost too good to be true.
There’s just one catch: to earn her place, Lyra must recover the Scholars’ missing crystal, the source of their magic, lost during a devastating fire. With a mischievous furry companion at her side, Lyra ventures into the Library’s cursed halls, where many surprises await
