Lillian Garcia – Percussion
I started playing drums in the 6th grade when I lived in Virginia Beach. I originally wanted to play saxophone, but I had childhood asthma and thought I wouldn’t be able to handle it. I have a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from James Madison University, and I taught middle and high school bands for almost 20 years. I joined S.O. the same year Wojciech started conducting the group, in 2016. When I’m not working as the continuity director at Cumulus Media Charleston or playing with S.O., I’m also playing with the Charleston Concert Band and the Mt Pleasant Symphony Orchestra. I love watching live sporting events and cheering on my Baltimore Orioles! I’ve been married to my retired US Navy CPO, Jericho, for almost 17 years, and we’re kept pretty busy with our 4-year-old, Greg. You can also hear me on the radio on the weekends on WSSX-95sx Hit Music Now!

Comencé a tocar la batería en sexto grado cuando vivía en Virginia Beach. Originalmente quería tocar saxofón, pero tenía asma de niño y pensé que no podría manejarlo. Tengo una Licenciatura en Música en Educación Musical de la Universidad James Madison, y enseñé en bandas de secundaria y preparatoria durante casi 20 años. Me uní a S.O. el mismo año en que Wojciech comenzó a dirigir el grupo, en 2016. Cuando no estoy trabajando como directora de continuidad en Cumulus Media Charleston o tocando con S.O., también toco con la Charleston Concert Band y la Orquesta Sinfónica de Mt Pleasant. ¡Me encanta ver eventos deportivos en vivo y animar a mis Baltimore Orioles! He estado casada con mi retirado CPO de la Marina de EE. UU., Jericho, por casi 17 años, y estamos bastante ocupados con nuestro hijo de 4 años, Greg.
