Join the Summerville Museum and Research Center on July 19 at 2:00 PM as we celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary with a special lecture by historians Dr. Ed West and Robert Scarlett.
This engaging discussion will explore 250 years of American history, highlighting the individuals, ideas, and events that shaped our nation while also acknowledging the challenges and injustices experienced by many Americans along the way.
From the Founding Fathers and the principles of our nation’s founding documents to influential figures such as Susan B. Anthony, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and President Ronald Reagan, the lecture will examine the people who helped build and improve the United States. The program will also spotlight the important contributions of Summerville and Dorchester County to our nation’s story.
Titled “America at 250: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly,” this presentation will celebrate our nation’s achievements while honestly reflecting on the areas where we have fallen short. Join us for an informative and thoughtful look at our past and a conversation about the future.
